Phasec – GE Inspection Technologies
GE, a manufacturer of aviation test equipment, wanted to develop a lightweight, hand-held crack detection unit. It needed a truly portable product that aircraft engineers would feel comfortable with. CID explored a number of design features, including a clip-on battery pack, more accessible controls and a shape that would allow it to be placed on uneven surfaces such as an aircraft’s wing.
